The Coveryard is a new music night with a difference. Expect to hear familiar tracks, reinvented in original and striking new performances by upcoming artists. A night combining unexpected venues, eclectic influences and new sounds…

The Coveryard, a new London-based music night, launches its debut night this July at St. Peter’s Church, Notting Hill. With an emphasis on covers at its core, the night will feature familiar songs from artists as diverse as Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Chase & Status, the Police, Nick Drake, Beyoncé and the Beatles, with each song given a unique twist in its live performance.

Aside from celebrating the legacy of seventy years of popular music, the night will also act
as a platform for emerging talent, with
covers interspersed with original music from
upcoming artists. Headlining the debut night will be rising star
and multi-instrumentalist Abi Wade, whose
brand of cello playing is as unique as her
haunting vocal. Joining her will be dreamfolk
pioneers Mt. Wolf, a London-based
quartet who mix folk idioms with
contemporary electric and bass-influenced
sounds, and Cambridge-based singersongwriter
Faith Taylor, who perceptive folkpop
is both acerbic and thought-provoking
in equal measures.
Backing the artists will be the Coveryard
Collective, a thirty-piece live orchestra. This
ensemble, made up of London’s finest young
orchestral and session musicians will perform
with each of the featured artists, creating a
fusion of classical, electronic, folk and dance
sound-worlds.
