The London Permaculture Festival returns for a 3rd year with a packed schedule of expert talks, interactive workshops, inspiring films, practical demonstrations, acoustic music and superb local food - helping people creatively build a sustainable future for all.

But what exactly is Permaculture? In essence,Permaculture is smart, sustainable design. Its core principles of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares ensure spaces are designed that produce optimum yields for their users but without negatively impacting on others and enabling us to tread lightly, respectfully and wisely on the planet. Permaculture can be applied to anything from community gardens, commercial farms, businesses and schools. Its application is a proactive way of preparing for a energy scarce society (a time of prohibitively high oil prices), lowering carbon emissions and halting practices that contribute to climate change.

Workshops taking place at the festival include natural beekeeping, forest gardening, working with your community, farming in the city, patterns in nature, cob-building and a talk on Transition Dubai.

The London Permaculture Festival is a non-profit grassroots event, organised solely by volunteers. It aims to unite Green London and create a positive critical mass of awareness around DIY culture - reshaping our capital city with creative sustainability at its core.
