The FOXTROT collective & exhibition

The word FOXTROT comes from the international maritime signal flag meaning: "I am disabled; communicate with me." This reflects our desire to enter in communication with a wider group.

The FOXTROT collective consists of four local creative minds coming from the distinct, but complementary, backgrounds of urbanism, design, photography and drawing. The collective’s aim is to set up a dialogue between these four different languages and to interact with other creatives.

The exhibition will bring together the material results of FOXTROT’s efforts exploring and documenting the ongoing changes taking place in East London, and the role played by artists within this process. The focus will be on Hackney Wick, an area undergoing rapid and widespread regeneration resulting in deep socio-economic and demographic transformations, which the exhibition will analyse and question.

The exhibition will feature drawings, photography, a map of the area charting the changes taking place, audio interviews with key stake-holders, and a zine-style catalogue of the project.

About the Invisible Line

The invisible line is a new gallery and project space in Dalston, conceived to offer a platform to showcase local talent and an opportunity for creatives to network.

We envisage the space as a dynamic hub, where art is shared and ideas exchanged. We aim to exhibit the best of Dalston, London and beyond. Our exhibitions, installations and artist residencies will be complemented by a diverse programme of events, including talks and debates, workshops, film screenings, readings, gatherings, pop-up’s and more.

Located next to Ridley's Cafe, during the day you can come and grab a coffee next door and come to the invisible line to appreciate the art or spark an idea or a project by talking to other like-minded creatives.
