Legendary Eastenders and Coronation Street actress Michelle Collins will host this year’s Mr and Miss Mango Tree UK - Ladyboy Contest, bringing a sense of style, class and celebrity glamour to the popular annual event.

Fabulous wigs, stunning costumes and death defying heels will be on display, as celebrated Belgravia Thai restaurant Mango Tree, hosts their famous tenth annual Ladyboy competition – but with some extra twists to make it fresh and exciting for 2012. After the success of adding the Mr Mango Tree element to the competition two years ago, where men also enter and show off their muscles to win fabulous cash prizes, Mango Tree are now celebrating the Olympic Games with the Mr and Miss Mango Tree UK Ladyboy Contest 2012 – Sport In The City.

"Having supported the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered communities for many years now, it is a great privilege and honour to be hosting the Mr and Miss Mango Tree UK Lady Boy Contest 2012 on 9 September this year," says Michelle Collins. "The past few years look like they've been great fun and everyone involved always makes such a huge effort, so I'm very much looking forward to all the sport-themed outfits and seeing how great everybody that enters will look. I'm sure that there will be an amazing atmosphere and hope that people will come along to enjoy the evening and support me while I'm on stage there for the first time."

On Sunday 9th September from 6.30pm till late, guests can enjoy a night of high-class entertainment as the contestants strut their stuff in three rounds before a panel of VIP and celebrity judges. Ladyboy entrants will fight it out for the coveted Miss Mango Tree UK 2012 crown, as well as the prizes of £500 cash (plus a £100 meal at Mango Tree) for the winner, £300 for the runner-up and £200 for third place. Alongside the lovely Ladyboys, the more masculine contenders will strut their stuff and prove they are worthy of the same cash prizes and the title, Mr Mango Tree UK 2012 and there will be £100 for the Best Male Body.

Together the two winners will make up the restaurant’s celebrated sporty couple – Mr and Miss Mango Tree UK 2012. The Ladyboy winners from the past four years have gone on to compete in Thailand’s Miss International Queen contest and one of last year’s winners, Kirk Miller, went on to appear on the cover of Men’s Health, while the 2011 runner up Stephen Box, is now a professional male model.

Ticket holders are invited to enjoy an array of entertainment from cabaret performances and a live DJ set, all set against a backdrop of Olympic-themed decorations. There will also be exotic cocktails and delicious Thai canapés available all evening.

So spice up your Sunday evening and put your best sports shoe forward for Mr and Miss Mango Tree UK Ladyboy Contest 2012 – Sport & the City.
