CALLING ALL GOSPEL SINGERS, CHURCH CHOIRS, YOUTH GROUPS, GOSPEL ORGANISATIONS, SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITY CHOIRS!

To celebrate our nation’s great achievements, we endeavour to extend the positivity and perseverance of our country’s young people on Saturday 22nd September 2012 by hosting the largest gathering of singers at Westfield Stratford City – to sing a Gospel classic. The event falls [appropriately] during "London Week of Peace" and we hope that the flame of unity and positivity demonstrated in recent times will not dwindle but stay alight.

UGCY has always been about helping young people to exceed the boundaries of what they believed possible of themselves and leaving all involved, whether they are a part of a choir or an observer, uplifted and inspired. These are the principles that we are founded upon and that we aim to resonate through this occasion.

Partnered with and supported by Westfield, Stratford City, where this shall take place, we want to demonstrate the value of young people in a civil society in a contrasting manner to that of last August when London was hit by the worst riots in more than 20 years. Our target age group is therefore 16-25 year olds, although, in the vein of the inclusive nature of gospel music, those outside this group will be welcomed.
