The Vanishing Point presents an immersive screening of Silent Running using the rooftop and gallery spaces of Utrophia (120 Deptford High Street, London, SE8 4NS) on Saturday 15 September at 7.30pm.

Directed by Douglas Trumbull (notable for his visual effects work on Blade Runner and 2001: A Space Odyssey), Silent Running (1972) is described by critic Mark Kermode as“One of the greatest sci-fi films ever”. The event will feature interaction with crew members from The Valley Forge space freighter, garden areas, a blast-off bar, food stalls and immersive installations inspired by the fiction of the film.

We’ve also confirmed that Rozi Plain (Fence Records) will be playing live at the event! Rozi's ethereal and otherworldly folk songs have been championed by the likes of Devendra Banhart and 6 Music DJ Lauren Laverne. Find out more here

Come along dressed in tie-dye or robot inspired costumes and get in at a reduced rate of £10 on the door (if tickets are still available). If you buy an advance ticket to guarantee entry, show up in costume and get a free drink.

Tickets are available now through The Vanishing Point's website.
Guests will be on the rooftop during the screening, so feel free to bring blankets and cushions for added comfort.

This is part of Scala Beyond- a six-week nationwide film season dedicated to all forms of cinema exhibition.
