Mwah ah ah ahhhhh... with its haunted tower, gloomy backstreets, famous graveyards and grisly history London has everything you need for a spooky Halloween. There's loads going on, so we’ve put together a guide to this year's London Halloween highlights.

There are hundreds of fantastic Halloween-themed attractions and events in London this month and we’ve put together a guide to some of the highlights:

Haunted Shark Reef at Sea Life London Aquarium
29th October – 4th November
The Sharks at the Sea Life London Aquarium’s new Shark Reef encounter will be visited by a special guest this Halloween as the Fish Witch haunts their underwater ship-wreck home. She’ll be cooking up a cauldron of fun in her unique hallo-marine back-drop - the floor to ceiling shark display featuring six different species.

Special hallo-marine themed talks will highlight some of the Ocean’s most fearsome fish and spooky sea creatures - from Blood Shrimps to Bat Fish and Spider Crabs - plus there will be face painting, shark feeds and special daily appearances from Shaky the Shark.


Hallowe'en Pumpkin Carving Competition
Wednesday 31st October 2012
By popular demand, everyone has the opportunity to test their pumpkin carving and artistic skills, with not one – but TWO – Competitions.


The Trickster at The London Dungeon
29th September – 4th November
This Halloween season things are about to get tricky at the world famous London Dungeon with a new character stepping out of the shadows and into the murky limelight...please give a horrific welcome to The Trickster.

Giving a whole new edge to Trick or Treat, The Trickster will be shocking, scaring and trick or treating visitors to London’s famously horrible, Halloween must-see attraction.

Lurking around corners and ready to startle you and your unsuspecting mates, be prepared to face The Trickster’s terrible torture or, if fortune is on your side, be pleasantly surprised by a sweet treat – all in the name of scary fun at the original Home of Halloween.


Witches and Warlocks at 'Cutty Sark' and Queen’s House
28 October
Cutty Sark and the Queen’s House are open to all Witches and Warlocks on a mission to have fun. Discover the story of Nannie, Cutty Sark’s very own witch, create a freaky fancy-dress accessory, take part in the Wicked Witches and Warlocks dance, sing-a-long to Witches’ songs. hear spooky tales and lots more. The day will end with prizes for the best fancy dress, so come in your best witch or warlock costume. All participants will receive a certificate.


Halloween Storytelling Experience on the London Eye
7th October – Sunday 4th November
Treat the kids to a Halloween Storytelling Experience on board the EDF Energy London Eye.

Discover the whereabouts of our kidnapped witches by solving riddles and casting spells with guidance of the High Witch, Annabella, before graduating in style from the Witch Academy.


Phobophobia 2012 at the London Tombs
This Halloween, the winner of the UK’s best scare attraction has pulled out all the stops to create the most intimidating, shocking and unnerving show yet– Phobophobia 2012.

Our family Friendly Halloween show will take you on a journey through the haunting history for London, be sure not to be lead astray by Jack the Ripper or to be scared by the Pumpkin Man. Our Guardian Angel show of the London Tombs will also be on offer for those less brave. There will also be pumpkin carving and face painting for all the family.


Halloween Howler 5k Fun Run
25th October
Fancy taking on a devilishly ghoulish challenge this Halloween? Join us in Battersea Park!

Dare you run the 5K down the petrifying paths of Battersea Park? Do you have the guts to take on The Stroke Association’s Halloween Howler fun run on 25 October?

With Zombies and Vampires to guide you on your journey you are bound to have a haunting experience!

Why not get into the life and soul of the event and run in fancy dress? Whether you are a witch or wizard, a ghost or a ghoul you will all be welcome to take part. You are also invited to join us at our very own Monster Mash at a local bar after the event. Don’t miss out, it’s going to be a graveyard smash!
