Positively Pink Afternoon Tea

This October, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour - London’s only five-star all-suite hotel – has collaborated with fine jewellers Robinson Pelham to create a quintessential Afternoon Tea, with a pink twist. The Positively Pink Afternoon Tea will be sold at the hotel in aid of local breast cancer charity The Haven, the UK’s leading breast cancer charity specialising in complementary breast cancer treatment for women and men.

Working with The Haven’s nutritionists, the Tea will feature super-food ingredients including watercress, green tea, ginger, spinach and turmeric, all often cited as containing medicinal properties helpful for preventing and treating cancer. In addition, the Robinson Pelham Haven Tree pendants will be sold along with the Tea (together priced from £195) with a percentage of the profits going directly to the charity. The charming tree of life design is based on The Haven’s symbol as well as being an international emblem of hope, growth and strength.

Robinson Pelham, renowned for its elegant jewellery collections and beautifully crafted private commissions, is celebrating the opening of its first shop in Elystan Street, Chelsea. The Haven Tree Pendant, in silver or yellow gold with pave-set white diamonds, will be available to purchase at Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour alongside the Afternoon Tea until October 31, 2012.

The Tea will include a selection of sandwiches such as Scottish smoked salmon, baby spinach and cream cheese on multi-cereal bread; turmeric chicken and watercress and grilled Mediterranean vegetables with hummus, both on whole wheat bread. Home-baked cakes, pastries and desserts such as rhubarb and almond tartlet, green tea éclair with lemon glaze, ginger cake and pistachio and raspberry slice are all on offer, without forgetting the classic, warm scones oozing with fresh clotted cream and fine strawberry jam. The Tea will be served with an optional glass of pink champagne.

The Positively Pink Afternoon Tea, including the Robinson Pelham Silver Tree Pendant and chain, is priced at £195 per person. Afternoon Tea only is £25 per person or £35 per person with a glass of Pink Tattinger Champagne. Ten percent of the proceeds from all Afternoon Teas as well as all profits from the Robinson Pelham pendants will go to The Haven. Afternoon Tea at Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour is served daily from 3pm to 6pm in the glass-fronted lounge bar overlooking Chelsea marina and London’s skyline.
