Margarita Escarpa at London Guitar Festival

Margarita Escarpa studied at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Madrid where she received the conservatory’s highest award, the premio Extraordinario Fin de Carrera. Among her two national and eight international competition prizes, Escarpa claimed first prize at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America Competition in 1994. Escarpa has featured at music festivals in Europe, Asia and America and has recorded compact discs for RTVE, Opera Tres, Naxos and GHA Records. She currently teaches at the Vigo Conservatory in Spain.

Margarita Escarpa will also lead a masterclass from 3pm - 6pm on 24 November in The Sunley Pavilion at The Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.
