Raindance Film Festival is Europe’s leading independent film festival. Started in 1993 and celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2012. Raindance is listed by Variety as one of the world's top 50 'unmissable film festivals'. Raindance aims to nurture, support and promote independent films and filmmakers from the UK and around the world.

Events include:

Opening Night Gala: Here Comes The Devil
Wednesday 26 September at 6pm
A young couple are on holiday in Tijuana, Mexico. They reluctantly let their children explore a set of caves but panic sets in when they don’t return on time. Discovered the next morning they are quiet and subdued. As time passes it becomes increasingly apparent that the children are more withdrawn, their behaviour decidedly different. It becomes clear that something happened to them down in that cave, but what? Were they abused by a local man, or did something more sinister occur?

Awards Ceremony
Saturday 6 October at 6pm
To recognise the outstanding achievements of the filmmakers showcased at the 20th Raindance Film Festival in 2012, a number of jury prizes will be awarded.

Closing Night Gala: Salt
Sunday 7 October at 7.30pm
Obsessed with making his own Western, filmmaker Sergio flies out to the Atacama desert in search of inspiration. Arriving in a small village things immediately take a turn for the bizarre when he receives a warm and familiar welcome from the residents, who seem to know him as ‘Diego.’ Things become more sinister however, when he learns that the vicious local bandit Victor has a score to settle with this Diego. Trapped in the desert, hunted by a bandit – Sergio appears to be starring in his own Western. But though the lines between fiction and reality may be blurring, bullets still kill.
