The Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University invites you to join us in celebrating our 15th birthday, and be amongst the first to visit our newly refurbished venue at the launch of The Occupants exhibition on Thursday 4th October from 6pm-8.30pm.
The Gallery refurbishments are designed to make our venue much more welcoming to visitors and provide new spaces for you to enjoy your stay, including our riverside terrace, to meet others and learn more about our programme of exhibitions, projects, events and participatory activities.
The Occupants is inspired by the late Stanley Picker and the stunning Picker House in Kingston upon Thames designed by architect Kenneth Wood. The exhibition includes sculpture, photography and film by some of the UK’s most significant contemporary artists including our Stanley Picker Fellows Matthew Darbyshire, Andy Holden and 2012 Turner Prize nominee Elizabeth Price.
If you can’t join us for the opening event, the entire Gallery team will be hosting a special Neighbours’ Viewing on Saturday 6th October between 11am-1pm, to show you around the refurbished venue, answer any questions and discuss how you might like to get involved with gallery activities.
We really look forward to seeing you here at one or both of the above events.
