Future Shorts is teaming up with Edge of Arabia in a unique collaboration bringing an exclusively curated programme of film to the ambitious #COMETOGETHER exhibition held in East London.

Edge of Arabia returns to London with #COMETOGETHER, a new exhibition showcasing the work of over 25 established and emerging Arab and Islamic artists. The exhibition explores the discord between the regions Islamic and historical heritage and its attempt to adapt to the shifting nature of technology and how it has transformed the platforms of expression.

On 25th of October, Future Shorts is hosting a special evening with live music, art and a screening featuring of 7 short films from the Middle East, including The Red Toy , Two and Two, Skateistan, Paint The Way, Bedouin Sand, Cairo, Cafe Regular, and Tolya.

Set in Afghanistan, Skateistan, documents a film about a young girl who dreams to represent her country as skater in an international sporting event. The protagonist deliberately steps away from the ravages of war of this country and instead reflects the hope and spirit of a new generation of youth in Kabul and the surprising things that can create cross-cultural dialogue.

Paint The Way tells the story of young graffiti artists pushing the boundaries and finding their own voice in a country where culture and expression are controlled.

This exclusive programme of film reflects the spirit of the exhibition, its art and the region. Future Shorts is the world’s biggest pop-up film festival and uses the universal medium of film to connect people across language, culture and boundaries.
