Four outstanding new dance works, selected from the 16 works commissioned for The Place Prize in 2012, compete for the most prestigious title in British contemporary dance, and £35,000 in prize money.
The four finalists make for a beguiling, multi-layered mixed programme: Eva Recacha evokes childhood desire and wishes, Riccardo Buscarini creates machine-like humans, h2dance lifts the lid on a failing relationship, and Rick Nodine celebrates an unlikely musical passion. There are compelling performances, arresting images, bags of humour and touchingly intimate, poignant moments.
You can vote for your favourite piece each evening, with a nightly prize of £1,000 on offer. The overall winner of The Place Prize for dance will be announced after the final performance.
