Pubs in Peckham and South London

Proper. London. Boozers.

A Peckham pub is the place you imagine when you think of a great London boozer: some old boy propping up the bar, definitely a copy or two of the Racing Post on adjacent tables, great beer and a stella atmosphere. And who could want anything more from a pub than that?

What about beef carpaccio with warm olive bread and caper berries?

Sling yer 'ook!!

Located in an arch below Peckham Rye Station, Bar Story is another unusual south London venue. Lively, friendly and industrial, the bar is popular for its cheap cocktails (2 for £7 from 6pm – 7pm daily) and local appeal. The sometime BBQ in the yard at the front is another reward for discovering this hard to find bar.

Clapham may not be the hippest place in London but its Old Town area is one of our favourite neighbourhoods. And that is largely thanks to The Sun. Great beers on draught, a lively atmosphere and a well-maintained beer garden are the key to its success.

Pub, restaurant, live music venue and cinema rolled into one, The Montpellier is one of Peckham’s hottest prospects. Add the backroom cinema, which screens new films on a professional quality projector, and you won’t even need the bargain Peckham Plex anymore.
