Fireworks Displays in London 2010

The All In London Blog

On November 5 1605, rebel Catholic soldiers demonstrated their dissent to the then anti-Catholic James I by planning to detonate 36 barrels of gunpowder under the House of Lords. The anti-Protestant Guy Fawkes... blah, blah and blah again... the real reason why we let off a shed-load of fireworks once a year has long evaporated; to the point where burning a guy is even frowned upon as it all considered a bit 'icky. Fair enough.

Guy Falkes is celebrated with a big fire, some baked potatoes, candy floss and probably the odd gypo running a nearby ride for the kiddies... oh and heaps and heaps of fireworks. But let's face it - that's the only real reason we're all here.

We've put together a quick run-down of the firework displays taking place across London this autumn... we've listed the bare-bones of what's happening when and where and then placed a link to your local councils at the foot of the list for any additional info you might need.
