'Volunteer to Cheer' at the Virgin London Marathon 2011

The British Lung Foundation has a team of over 135 runners taking part in the 2011 Virgin London Marathon to raise money to support people living with a lung condition - we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our cheering squad and spur our runners on when the going gets tough!

Date Sunday 17th April 2011

Times Between 11.00am – 1.00pm (Cheering point 1 – Marathon Mile 17 - Canary Wharf)

From 12.30pm – onwards… (Cheering point 2 – Marathon Mile 25 - Embankment)

As much or as little time as you can spare – you could come along for an hour or 2, or all day – it’s up to you!

Volunteer Role Volunteers are to join one of our 2 cheering squads - All volunteers will be given a British Lung Foundation branded T-Shirt to wear on the day and cheering materials, the main task for volunteers is to cheer and make as much noise as possible! You are more than welcome to bring any friends or family members along to join in the fun too - the more the merrier! Race day is great fun and the atmosphere is inspiring!

Brief All volunteers will be fully briefed ahead of the event and given the name and number of 1 person as a main point of contact for the day.

Refreshments Refreshments will be provided

• Your full name • Contact number (mobile if possible) • Availability and preferred Location • T-Shirt Size (S/M/L/XL) • Any support requirements that you may have

• If you are bringing others too - please also let us know the number of people and their T-shirt size/s.
