Banish your cravings! Tip #5: Just add vegetables! - it's a great way to crowd out foods that don't add value ...instead give your body dark leafy greens like kale, spinach, broccoli etc. Squash, sweet potatoes, bell peppers all give your body a sweet fix too - all food affects blood sugar by 30% but sweet veggies will keep this to a minimum ...unlike table sugar which'll send it through the roof!
Here's a recipe for a sweet green juice that's a sure-fired easy way to add your five a day ...and it takes less than five minute to prepare and make!
Here’s what you need:
1 cucumber 1 handful of kale leaves 2 big juicy pears A big piece of fresh ginger (to taste) 1 handful of broccoli 2 stalks of celery Juice and zest of 2 lemons 3 cups of water
Here’s what you do…
:: Put all ingredients into a liquidiser and blend until smoothe. :: Drink straight away so that you benefit from optimal nutrient value of the ingredients.
Yup …it’s as easy as that!
Notes:
:: Either put through a sieve for a fibre-free version or drink straight …dependent on how you like it best.
:: It’s nice with a tablespoon of ground flax seeds or some maca added after blending …your choice.
:: Change it up so you make it just the way you like it …Don’t have any broccoli, then leave it out, and maybe add some beets, spinach or carrots …dependent on what you have in the fridge, or what gets your mouth watering!
