Peter Jones to celebrate Chelsea Flower Show with floral food treat

his spring, Peter Jones, the landmark Chelsea branch of John Lewis, will treat gardening enthusiasts to an exclusive floral-inspired breakfast to celebrate London’s famous Chelsea Flower Show. Available from the 23-29 May, the ‘Blooming Botanical Breakfast’ will cost £9.95 and will be available from The Brasserie from 9.30am until 11.30am.

Chris McLean, Head Chef at Peter Jones, says: “As a neighbour of The Royal Hospital Chelsea, Peter Jones has always been a popular pit-stop for Chelsea Flower Show visitors. This year we wanted to combine food and flowers and re-work the most important meal of the day to create a hearty floral themed breakfast.” A morning feast that will prepare early bird botanists for garden gazing, the bespoke ‘Blooming Botanical Breakfast’ will include a freshly baked warm poppy seed bloomer with thyme butter and lavender honey, a soft buttermilk, rose petal and blueberry muffin blossoming with edible flowers and natural yogurt with wild strawberry compote dressed with fresh mint.

For a floral finale to the ‘Blooming Botanical Breakfast’, a pot of jasmine-infused green tea by The London Tea Company will be served. A treat for the senses, the tea leaves release a floral scent and blossom into a beautiful flower on contact with hot water.
