FAMILY: Lapland comes to Kent this Christmas

London Art Scene from The Art Stop

This is one of the most fun, winter treats you could give the family this winter. Returning for the fifth year in a row, LaplandUK is coming to the home counties - Kent, to be precise, and it's the most beautiful and fun experience for kids and adult alike. It's definitely something I'd quite like to check out, even without the young ones!

The Christmas experience is set in the woodlands of Bewl Water. And from the moment you arrive, the magic does really begin. Visitors are invited to adventure down the Elves’ magical forest pathways in a true snowy winter wonderland with their LaplandUK passports, which will have been stamped on entry.

The first stop is the stunning Toy Factory, where kids can help the Elves do their work, before heading to Mother Christmas' Kitchen - where the designing of gingerbreads will take place and there's even a chance for some storytime.

And then the real fun begins - everyone who's up for it will be handed a pair of skates and it's onto the Elf Village for some 'ice' skating. A few rounds on the skates and if you're not knackered from all the laughing, it'll be time to meet the local Sami people as well as cuddling some resident huskies and reindeer. This last bit makes very cute pictures!

Finally, it's time to meet Father Christmas. And after some cuddles, the handing over of Christmas lists and telling him if you've been bad or good, it's time to go home... but not without a little present from the man himself of course.

Sounding good? Well, it's definitely a good chunk of your day, but it's certainly worth the effort. It's not often that something truly magical lands itself so nearby for the kids to enjoy and this really is quite the experience, helping keep the beauty of Christmas fun going too.

LaplandUK opens on 26 November 2011 and runs until Christmas Eve. Tickets are priced between £44.50 and £62.50 and are available now from www.laplanduk.com
