MUSIC: Gary Barlow announces solo CHARITY gigs

London Art Scene from The Art Stop

He may be dominating the headlines for his work on the X Factor judging panel, but Gary Barlow has a whole load of amazing projects up his sleeve... and he's just announced another one of them!

On 5 and 6 December, Gary will play TWO solo concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of The Princes Trust. The Take That star has done similar gigs before, where he combines some Take That classics like Back For Good and Rule The World, with his own material and some fantastic covers. It's a show worth watching!

Speaking of the upcoming gigs, Gary said, "It's really important to me that disadvantaged young people get the support they need, especially at the moment. The Prince's Trust along with The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry are both doing great work with young people and I liked the idea of recognising the work of the whole family. I hope the money raised through these concerts will make a real difference to young lives."

Sweet! Even Clarence House showed their gratitude this morning by tweeting Gary to say thank you...

Since ending the Take That Progress Live tour in July, Gary has focussed hard on his charity work - and as we know from his past exploits, he is a dab hand at putting together some of the finest gigs in aid of good causes. In 2009, he launched Children In Need Rocks, a live show which featured the likes of Take That and Robbie Williams (on stage together for the first time in 14 years!), Sir Paul McCartney, Lily Allen, Leona Lewis and Katherine Jenkins. This year, he is set to repeat his Children In Need Rocks triumph in Manchester with a whole new bunch of exciting artists including JLS, but thankully he hasn't forgotton all of us down here in London either...

Here come the details... The tickets for Gary's solo shows go on sale at 9am this Friday and will be priced at £40, £45, £55, £65 and £95. The tickets will be available from:
