To celebrate Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival this year, Benito’s Hat Mexican Kitchen is launching a social media competition giving fans and the public in London the chance to win a free Mexican meal for their office, which will be delivered by a special taxi.
Lasting for three days from Monday 31st October until Tuesday 2nd November, all office workers in Zone 1 have to do is tweet the words “Give me a free burrito” – along with the #dayofthedead hashtag and their office name to – @BenitosChat on Twitter. The offices that send the most messages will win a Day of the Dead feast for their colleagues.
Continuing the spiritual theme of the celebrations, the Day of the Dead meal prizes will be delivered across London by a colourful Karma Kar, adorned with traditional flowers reefs and sugar skulls insignia, as well as playing Mexican mariachi music. The Karma Kar will deliver the prize meals to offices from 11am to 5pm for each day of the competition.
As an additional bonus, anyone who spots the Karma Kar driving around London during the three-day competition will be able to receive 50% off their next Benitos’ Hat meal by sending a picture of the car to the Benito’s Hat Twitter profile or by posting it on the Benito’s Hat Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Benitos.Hat
Alongside the social media competition, all three Benito’s Hat Mexican restaurants will be transformed with a vibrant festival atmosphere for the Day of the Dead celebrations. There will be colourful in-store decorations including candles, flowers and skulls, Day of the Dead menu specials (including the luxurious pan de muerto and chocolate sauce) and cocktails, staff costumes and Mexican music.
Any customer coming in-store in fancy dress or with their faces painted during the three-day celebration will receive 50% of their meal food and cocktails. Customers are encouraged to embrace the Day of the Dead festival spirit and really make an effort with their outfits and costumes.
Benito’s Hat founder Ben Fordham commented: “We’re really excited about this year’s Day of the Dead celebrations. By launching the office lunch competition we want people to experience the spirit and authenticity of the festival and get a taste of Mexican dishes along the way. Our restaurants will embody the party atmosphere too and we’ll be giving discounts to people who have made a genuine effort with their fancy dress and face painting!”
The Benito’s Hat Day of the Dead burrito delivery competition and promotions will run from Monday 31st October until Wednesday 2nd November. Terms and conditions will apply. See below for full details
