“Eat in the Street” is a new and exciting mobile application to find the best street food around the capital. A group of ten young entrepreneurs built the venture in a mere 48 hours and launched the site at Brick Lane Upmarket today. Food lovers can visit www.eatinthestreet.com to see which stalls are open near them at that particular moment.
“What brings us together is the passion for fine and inexpensive food. There are exciting new street food places popping up in London and we want to make it easier for people to find these hidden gems”, says Will Hines, one of the co-founders.
Traders can easily sign up on the website, so that they can be tracked on the platform whenever and wherever they want. The founders are sure that this is just the beginning of their venture and are currently working on an iPhone app.
The project was built at Launch48, a workshop where participants from different backgrounds and levels of experience think/plan/develop and launch a web application in one weekend. Mentors from organisations that supported the group include Google, Paypal and BskyB.
