Netball in London: A great way to start the end of your day...

The All In London Blog

Londoners... When the clock on your desk strikes 6, do you put on your coat, dash for the door, sidestep the inevitable map-wielding tourists and get to the tube just in time to find that your line is suspended? There must be more to London life than this continuous hamster wheel of frustration, mustn’t there...?

Well, yes, there is. Wouldn’t it be great to swap your suit for sports kit, get some fresh air and meet new people? Of course it would! And that’s exactly where One Netball UK comes in. “Netball?” you say? Yes, netball! Girls and guys of all ages; fitness freaks or first-timers – everybody is welcome at One Netball UK’s evening leagues in Pimlico, Camden, Waterloo and Wimbledon.

One Netball UK is London’s longest running social sports league and provides working professionals with the perfect opportunity to socialise whilst keeping active. Even if you’ve never played before, there are competitions to suit all levels and experienced staff are on hand to offer advice to beginners. You don’t even need to have a full team to register – sign up as a single player and they’ll find you a team to join!

Evenings with One Netball UK are fun, relaxed and friendly, yet with a competitive edge. Everything is provided: balls, bibs, posts, qualified umpires and team t shirts. Games last 40 minutes and teams usually head to the local watering hole afterwards to catch up over a well deserved drink.

Rachael, currently playing with One Netball UK says, “After graduating from uni and working in London for about year, I thought that the London lifestyle wasn’t being overly kind to my waistline - I wanted a hobby which would keep me active and fit”. She continues, “I was initially nervous about joining One Netball as a single player but the gang of girls I was put together with all turned out to be lovely and we’re still playing together a year and a half later”.
