Leading fashion designer helps create 21st century guide book for one of London’s most famous landmarks Camden Town, the district at the heart of London’s creative community, has launched a new interactive smartphone app that will provide visitors with information on the best shopping, entertainment and music hotspots in the area. With a range of entertainers, entrepreneurs and creatives contributing to its heritage, Camden Town is one of the UK’s most popular destinations. The new iPhone app will give visitors an enhanced experience, providing curated tours by famous Camden faces, giving their own take on the area. First to share his Camden insight is legendary fashion designer Wayne Hemingway. Famed for his iconic nineties fashion label Red or Dead, Wayne started his career in Camden Town with a market stall in 1981 and went on to build an international multi-million pound business. The CamdenTown app offers an exclusive look at Wayne’s favourite shopping destinations, featuring a range of tourist, craft and fashion shops that all contribute to Camden Town’s rich cultural tapestry. From the iconic Stables Market to vinyl record shops, Camden Town has something for everyone and the mobile app will help visitors discover everything on offer. With features including a shopping directory, integrated maps and video content from Wayne himself, this 21st century guide book will make visiting Camden an even more exciting experience. Wayne Hemingway said, “I’ve always had a special connection with Camden Town and was thrilled to be a part of this project. I want to show people all that Camden has to offer and why it is considered to be such an institution by so many Londoners. Unlike so many parts of the city, it has retained its originality and has a fascinating history – no visit to London is complete without a stroll through Camden Town and I hope that the CamdenTown app is going to enhance this experience further!”
