Will Cycle For Cake: Sign up now!

Capital of Sport

Any cycle club members out there will know that a bike ride is a marvellous reason to eat cake, at least twice weekly, with friends. Show me a cycle club that doesn't stop for tea and cake, and I will show you why they're not technically a cycle club.

And on that note, behold! An unashamed bike propelled cake-crawl through the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Circle Saturday 27 July in your diaries and join the chain gang from the local cycling charity bikeminded.org as they cruise with intent around the area's "local independent cafes, cake shops and macaron boutiques" (stop it, I'm salivating already). Tickets cost £5 and include treats en-route.

And where do we sign up? Head to http://bikemindedcakeandcoffeeridejuly2013.eventbrite.co.uk/
Tickets are likely to sell like, erm, hot cakes.

And now the disclaimer:
"It’s a relaxed, social ride with cycle marshalls to make sure everyone is okay and to look after the bikes when everyone’s munching on cake and coffee. Please note too that this event is for over-18s only and that any children who would like to attend this event will need to come in a cargo bike ridden by their parent/guardian or on a child bike seat."
