Dog tea and sprinkles at new pet store in Twickenham (Bazil & Ruby)

Dogs in London - The London Dog Blog

Twickenham riverside is a favourite amongst dog walkers – whether just hanging out at one of the many dog friendly pubs in the area or wandering down the pretty walkway to Marble Hill Park. Church Street has many attractive shops and restaurants and is also the location for new “animal empire and pet boutique” Bazil & Ruby.

I’d seen some of the colourful harnesses for smaller dogs on its Facebook page and was keen to take a closer look at what else they had. The best-sellers are the dog beds – assorted sizes, British made and in a range of soft colours.

There are dog toiletries too – including specialist shampoos for dogs suffering smelly fur or sensitive skin. There were helpful items too – such as attractive metal dog bowls (again, assorted colours and sizes) and tick tweezers for just £4. And a variety of attractive jogging leads from overseas - they can be hard to get hold of.

But the thing that I found most interesting were sprinkles (for food) and tea for dogs (infuse in hot water before cooling it down for your dog). There was “Old Dog” tea to counteract the signs of ageing. “Minty Dog” sprinkles to keep dog breath sweet and “Zen dog” to promote calmness and reduce anxiety.
