Trees!

Regardless of your political leanings, you can't fail to be delighted by Boris' latest wheeze which is to use the money from some sad glossy self-promoting London newsletter to pay for 10,000 new trees around London. And London Planes at that.

How original for a politician to come up with an idea that is genuinely something that Londoners of all persuasions will be happy about! And how green!

I guess we should run a poll on those areas that we feel are most in need of an injection of green. Let's nominate those locations in London where we really, really want those trees - either to obscure some existing monstrous view or to pep up somewhere that's currently a bit tired and grey.

Oh. And if Mr Johnson wants to really make this Londoner happy - can we please have the pigeons back in Trafalgar Square?
