Vodafone has launched a competition to promote its new Vodafone 360 service.
Starting on 23 October 2009, the contest invites entrants to get all their mates in, on or near one of the 1,400 circles that Vodafone has positioned around the UK.
The team with the most mates in one place will win a £36,000 experience of a lifetime for themselves and all their friends. There are also daily prizes of £360 for the most people in a circle and the most creative entry that day.
The competition is supported by campaign activity in cities around the UK including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Nottingham, Newcastle, Cardiff, Bristol.
Fifty of the circles will be manned and turn up at high profile events such as concerts and sporting events. The remaining 1,350 circles will be placed on pavements using ‘steam clean’ or reverse graffiti, a cutting edge process that uses high pressure steam to ‘clean’ images out of the UK’s streets. This is a record-breaking number for this type of activity in the UK, however, as it uses recycled rain water and a tree is planted for every circle created, it’s a very environmentally friendly solution. These trees will be given to families in Southern Ethiopia, and include fruits such as mango, apple, oranges, olives, papaya, guava.
A microsite and Vodafone’s official Facebook, Twitter and You Tube platforms will be used to help promote and showcase content. Lewis Hamilton and members of the England Cricket team are also engaged in activity.
Vodafone 360 is a new service which allows people to see all their mates in one place on their mobile. It makes keeping up with friends simpler, providing a single address book for all personal contacts from Facebook™, Windows Live Messenger™ and Google Talk™. It lets users stay in touch with friends' updates easily and also offers a wide range of apps, games and music.
