Streetcar has teamed up with the legendary Pinewood Studios to offer film fans the chance to take a Streetcar to the world’s biggest drive-in cinema.
Streetcar, the UK’s largest car club1, is offering the chance to take three friends in a Streetcar to the world’s largest outdoor screen for just £50. The offer is open to both members and non-members, and will include a drive-in ticket which admits up to 4 people (worth £35) and a 5-hour Streetcar booking (a 50% saving on a standard VW Golf hourly rate). Films are being shown each weekend from 7 November – 6 December. Streetcar’s co-founder, Brett Akker, said: “Streetcar is excited to be teaming up with such a renowned film studio for this event. It will extend Pinewood’s audience to include the growing number of people who want all the advantages of having access to a car, without all the costs3 and hassle of owning one”.
Pinewood Group’s Corporate Affairs Director, Andrew Smith, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Streetcar for our series of Drive-In screenings – it’s a great way for Londoners who don’t own a car to sample our spectacular movie-viewing experience”.
From The Bourne Ultimatum to Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, Mamma Mia! to Superman, Pinewood and its sister studio Shepperton have helped create each film in the Drive-In series. Other titles being shown include Slumdog Millionaire, Gladiator and Batman Begins. Pinewood has transformed its unique outdoor water filming facility into the world’s largest cinema screen (73.1M wide x 18.3M high).
