Unless you've been living under a rock, you will be well aware that summer sales are in full swing. Already. I know, I know, we haven't actually had much of a summer yet. Nevertheless it's that time of year when all our favourite stores have a mass clear out to make way for the pre-fall drops that will be hitting shelves in the next few weeks. Hard to believe it, but next week's August issue magazines will hold the first sneak peeks into this Autumn's catwalk looks, which I find simultaneously depressing and intoxicating - few things excite me more than new season fashion...
Anyway, I digress. My point is that now is the time to pick up some brilliant bargains, particularly invsetment pieces that are sure to see you through many seasons to come. Step forward the Mulberry Harriet Shoulder Bag. In glossy black buffalo leather with a golden briefcase-style clasp, Harriet is a true beauty. Classically chic yet with that touch of contemporary whimsy that Mulbs does so well, it's undoubtedly an investment piece - much like a Chanel 2.55 if you will, it's sure to go with everything and anything. Though happily, unlike the Chanel 2.55, it's not quite as heavy on the old wallet, currently down to £347 from £695.
Of course if money were no object my absolutely dream Mulberry sales purchase would be the Deer Brown Haircalf Bayswater adorned with tiny gold studs in the shape of fox faces. Words cannot describe how much I adore and covet this beauteous creation, however at £2,000 (that's half price, it was £4,000...) it's slightly out of reach...
