London's Comedy Blog

This week's blogpost is addressed solely to Andy Murray. Sorry everyone but needs must.

ANDY. Mate.
LondonisFunny.com here, hi.

It's time to wipe away those tears of defeat and replace them with TEARS OF LAUGHTER. You're not known for being the chirpiest of fellows, but I'm sure even you will be able to crack a smile at one of this lot. Have a look, you'll be right as rain in no time.

Andy Zaltzman's Political Animal, Soho Theatre
Mr Murray I'm sure a bit of perspective would help you in your time of need, so a reminder that the world's totally f**ked – then laughing about that – should do just the trick. Satire behemoth Andy Zaltzman is your man and he's got some cracking guests too. (Monday)

Luisa Omielan – What Would Beyoncé Do?, the Africa Centre
Andy this one's free, so you don't even have to dip into your meagre runners-up winnings for this. It's a cracking show by new-ish sparky stand-up Luisa Omeilan about how Beyoncé inspires her in her most difficult moments. Perfect! (Tuesday)

Oram & Meeten's Club Fantastico, the Vandella
Maybe a bit of surrealism is what's required. Leave this cold, hard behind and immerse yourself in a night of oddball comedy characters. And this will do just the trick, Andy – Club Fantastico at the Vandella in Shepherd's Bush. (Thursday)

Austentatious: An Improvised Novel, at London Zoo
Travel back in time, Andy – no not to work on that pesky first serve, but to the days of Jane Austen, with this marvellous show currently taking place at the London Zoo Lates. Austentatious is a mock Austen novel made up on the spot on the basis of audience suggestions, and it's dead good, too. (Friday)

Dave Gorman's Powerpoint Presentation, Bloomsbury Theatre
You must have a geeky side, don't you Andy? Indulge it with this fine show by Dave Gorman, in which he forms a handy double act with a projector screen and asks you to put aside your Powerpoint prejudices. (Saturday)

Chin up mate, hope this helps.
