Penhaligon's takes over Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Terrace

Love London

Next week one of my favourite fragrance houses, Penhaligon's, launch their latest scent, and to celebrate the Fifth Floor Terrace of Harvey Nichols is being turned into a multi-sensory garden, accompanied by cocktail and dessert menus inspired by the fragrance!

Peoneve celebrates the heady summer fregrance of the Peony flower, with a top note of Violet Leaf bursting with garden greenness, followed by a heady heart of succulent Peony, Bulgarian Rose and a powerful white floral note courtesy of Hedione. The sensual base notes add a sense of summer abandon to the scent; earthy vetiver, mischievous musk and soft, warm cashmere wood.

The rooftop terrace will evoke the essence of an eccentric English Garden in high summer with beautifully traditional garden furniture balanced by huge overgrown peonies and laser-cut insects.

Innovative drinks include the Penhaligon’s Peony Punch to share, which blends William’s gin with a bespoke tea blend inspired by notes in the fragrance. This impressive punch will be served in a beautiful five litre Penhaligon’s perfume bottle and will serve six. The Rose Garden is made with Kentish raspberries, fresh white peach, Naked Chase vodka, and pressed apple juice, served over a frozen sphere of ice.

A dessert menu designed by the Head Chef of the Fifth Floor Restaurant, Jonas Karlsson, will comprise inventive and delectable treats such as White Chocolate & Peony Mousse and Gooseberry Fool with Elderflower & English Custard; whilst Boozy Pops offer an adult kick to a summer essential, the ice lolly, and will be available in three flavours, The Posy, The Rhuberry and The Brambleflower.

The Penhaligon’s Peoneve terrace will be open from Monday 16th July until Friday 31st August 2012 at Harvey Nichols, Knighstbridge
