FITNESS: Zumba in the Park

London Art Scene from The Art Stop

Fancy getting fit in the great outdoors? Then Clapham Common has the answer!

Head down to the Bandstand every Tuesday evening (6.45pm) and Saturday mornings (10am) for an hour of Zumba with Wireless Fitness! But unlike your regular gym classes, these sessions are not only held in the fresh air, but they are also conducted silently, using wireless headphones.

Each class can consist of up to 50 people - which means, if you are a bit conscious of your moves, you won't feel as though you're in the spotlight. And everyone is of different abilities, with beginners joining every week - so you'll never feel like the 'new person'. Plus, the instructor's lead is easy to follow visually and through your headphones.

Each session will set you back just £7 - and places must be booked online in advance. But you can pay for just one session, which means if you're someone with commitments, you can take a class as and when you can. You can also book classes in batches of 10 or 20 and save money on sessions.

And the best thing about Wireless Fitness? You can do it with your friends. So get your girlies together and head down to the park. If you're lucky, the sun might shine on you too.
