Top 5 comedy gigs of the week

London's Comedy Blog

Morning all!

Grim out isn't it?

Time to get your comedy on. Here are LondonisFunny.com's top 5 picks of the week:

The Monday Club, Tattershall Castle
Note: this is not a castle, it's a boat on the Thames next to Embankment station. It's also the location of the excellent monthly Monday Club, which tonight welcomes condescending Frenchman Marcel Lucont, plus multimedia mentalist David Trent, comic-rapper Doc Brown and infectious improv quintet The Noise Next Door. (Monday)

Old Rope, The Phoenix
A cracking new material night in central London, headlining tonight is the brilliant Glenn Wool, plus Robin Ince, Tiffany Stevenson, Mary Bourke, James Acaster and Tony Law. (Monday)

Knock2Bag, Bar FM
More comedy excellence from Knock2Bag for cheap £££, featuring Canadian maverick Tony Law, Josh Widdicombe, oddball sketchers Oyster Eyes, the professorial Mark Cooper-Jones, the multitalented Sara Pascoe and YouTube sensation Chris Kendall. Ed Gamble hosts. (Wednesday)

Arthur Smith's Comedy Banquet, King's Place
A bumper night of comedy featuring professional Londoner Arthur Smith as host. There are roughly 5000 comedians on the bill (roughly), including Isy Suttie of Peep Show fame, Catriona Knox, Thom Tuck, The Trap, Tom Bell, William Andrews and more. (Thursday)

Amused Moose Soho, Moonlighting nightclub
A long-established club that has a particularly strong line-up on Saturday – one of the best in the business Ian Stone, a secret TV guest comedian, and two rising stars Funmbi and Tom Toal. (Saturday)

Phew! Thank god for live comedy. Full details of these listings, booking info, and loads more listings can be found atLondon is Funny's fabulous listings section.
