London DogBlog – Dressed for Halloween?

Dogs in London - The London Dog Blog

No doubt you are all focused on visiting the fabulous Discover Dogs exhibition at ExCel this weekend but spare a thought for 31 October. No, not the Rugby World Cup final, but Halloween!

While I was walking around Richmond the other day I passed a small pet shop where there were these adorable dog Halloween outfits displayed. Now I know I’ve promised that I won’t make Alfie the Chihuahua suffer the humiliation of being dressed up anymore but I was tempted.

You see, I know lots of parents have reservations about the whole “trick or treat” thing. But there’s no reason why the family can’t dress up and play with ghoulish toys and themed food in the safety of their own home. And you can’t leave out man’s best friend in these celebrations.

Lots of other pet stores are stocking Halloween outfits for our canine friends for Halloween so get out there and find a totally over the top outfit or something a little more subtle like a nice pumpkin-orange collar.

And let’s remember that shortly after Halloween we have to keep our beloved best friends locked up inside to avoid the firework dangers of Bonfire Night. So I’m tempted to buy Alfie a fetching skeleton coat – which we can re-use when we are doing Pirate’s Day too!
