London Dog Blog – New dog department at Orvis in Regent Street

Dogs in London - The London Dog Blog

The Orvis shop on Regent Street (South) has this week opened a new dog department.

It’s a good sized department with plenty of doggy goods – more for the large, rugged, outdoor gun dog types rather than the blingy lap dog fraternity. Although I still managed to find a couple of things for my Chihuahua.

There’s a good selection of different sized dog beds in sturdy country colours of brown, green and grey in square, round and sofa shapes. I’m told these beds are now manufactured in the UK. There’s a bed personalisation offer at the moment to celebrate the opening of the dog department.

Amongst the other products were lots of good quality toys that will stand up to rigorous games of tuggies. A particular find was the collapsible dog bowls (from £9.99) – I keep a small one with me when travelling with my dog – particularly in the hot weather.

There’s a wide range of natural snacks from Green & Wilds – including salmon bakes, herring fish sticks and ox liver deli bites. There are also Dog Treat Company products with fabulous names such as “God save the Corgi” and “Joie de Vivre”.

Another useful product was the Soggy Doggy door mat which absorb five times the water of a normal mat. There are some stylish dog jackets too – in browns and orange and also contrasting blue colours. And a wall of dog collars and leads in all sorts of colours although red and turquoise feature strongly. There are dog whistles, tie out stakes and dog training dummies in various sizes.

As an aside, and as someone who enjoys fishing, I was impressed with the fishing department in the store too. Amazing fly selection.

And if you can’t get to the store itself, then you can see all these dog products and more in the Orvis Dog Book www.orvis.co.uk There are some really useful furniture, bed and car covers in there too as well as some good quality dog gates. There’s also details of a competition that supports the US Morris Animal Foundation’s Canine Cancer Campaign.
