A Second Scoop of Sorbet

Love London

Eagle-eyed readers may recall my visit back in February to Sorbet, the South African salon chain now residing in north London and offering a veritable smorgasbord of treatments at a purse-friendly price point.

After my first stab at the Dermalogica BioSurface™ Peel I was hooked. My skin was left revived and revitalised (not bad for a 32 year old who works in an office with no fresh air and likes to burn the candle...) and for days afterwards I was complimented on my glow.

The peel is designed to help reduce acne, pigmentation and signs of premature ageing to reveal smoother, brighter and softer skin, safely removing dull outer layers of skin and help skin underneath regenerate for a more radiant complexion. In general, it can help with skin roughness, signs of photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne breakouts, skin congestion and some forms of hyperpigmentation and unbalanced skin tone. It sounds scary - sure, you have a few layers of acid painted on to your skin - but it's really not. Unless you have super sensitive skin to begin with (in which case definitely consult the salon before booking such a treatment) you're likely to just feel a slight tingling, stinging sensation, a bit like mild sunburn.

It's safe to say I'm hooked; I'll be putting aside £75 from the next paycheck for my chemical peel fund - as I read somewhere recently, it's the recessionista's facelift.
