It looks like summer might finally be upon us and with summer weather comes summer make up. [b/]Clarins[/b] is always my first port of call when the time comes for a new look. The quality of their cosmetics is second to none - their foundation is the only one I’ve repeat bought for five years, despite trying approximately 100 others - and I adore the intensity of their eye colours.
This summer the new 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette (£34) is inspired by colours of the sunset, from beige and gold to vibrant orange and bronze. Blended together they create a dreamy palette of summer shades which complement my hazel eyes perfectly. Plus as each eyeshadow is formulated for wet and dry use they work as both a soft-focus day look or, when applied with a wet applicator, the intensity is magnified.
A decent bronzer that had just the right level of colour and shimmer is hard to find, but the Limited Edition Bronzing & Blush Compact (£30), embossed with a botanical palm motif, warms the complexion with the blend of three matte bronze shades and an iridescent coral blush. The harmony of shades complements all skintones whilst the formula cares for the skin and gives
luminosity to the complexion. Containing Clarins’ AntiPollution Complex, Light Optimizing+ Complex and Micropatch Vegetal to maintain skin’s natural hydration, with one sweep of this powder your skin will be protected and appear radiant.
Completing the trio is the Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil (£19), a product which took the beauty industry by storm when it launched as limited edition in January 2015; it proved so popular it became a permanent addition to the range. This summer sees the addition of four new colours - Candy, tangerine, Mint and Honey Shimmer - all of which are now permanent residents. With nourishing hazelnut oil, mirabelle and organic jojoba oils, this is a supremely moisturising formula that gives a pop of colour and flavour, plus Honey Shimmer contains shimmering flicks of gold and Mint offer the added benefit of plumping the lips instantly, thanks to a little dose of menthol. Be warned, they’re a bit addictive; you might end up wanting all four.
