Ready for this jelly? K West Hotel Spa has a new Korean treat on the menu...

Love London

Having one's feet massaged with jelly might sound like a kinky fetish best left in the depths of Tinder, but it actually forms the basis for the latest indulgent treat on offer at Shepherds Bush's K West Hotel Spa.

It's hardly surprising that this little treat comes by way of Korea as, it would seem, do all the latest innovations in the world of beauty treatments. The classic pedi is turned on its head (or feet...) as water is turned into a fluffy jelly in front of your eyes, transforming a bowl of water into a sublimely soothing experience, as a thorough soak and leg massage in a tub full of jelly naturally exfoliates and hydrates dry and tired skin. It does certainly feel a bit odd, though admittedly not as odd as that ghastly fish pedicure trend that did the rounds a few years back (and which, I might add, was not ideal for someone with ticklish feet). The addition of another magical sachet of powder returns the jelly to water. Seriously, it's like the Harry Potter of pedicures.

It's worth checking in a bit ahead of schedule if you're hitting the K West; the spa includes a hydrotherapy pool, sanarium, herbal steam room, Snow Paradise and the rather delightful looking Sun Meadow, giving all the benefits of vitamin D without the harmful UV of a sunbed. An indulgent evening in the spa and a treat for the feet? You won't be able to resist it.

The Jelly Pedicure is priced £60 for 55 minutes and available exclusively at the K West Hotel Spa.
