The Borough of Harrow lies to the north-western outer ring of Greater London bordering on the next county of Hertfordshire. It is an incredibly diverse area with over 40% of it's population coming from ethnic minorities, but has less pronounced differences in wealth than other boroughs. The area around the prestigious Harrow-on-the-Hill is very affluent with average house prices in excess of £1.5m. However, there are fewer pockets of real deprevation than in comparable boroughs and much of the area enjoys a decent standard of living and access to open spaces and greenbelt land. As a result of this and its good schools as well as it's proximity and good transport links into central London, this has become a popular place to be.
Harrow boasts a real village atmosphere to explore in places like Pinner and Stanmore, rich heritage to uncover such as that around Harrow school, award-winning cuisine to savour (much of which is thanks to the strong international feel of the place) and vibrant cultural diversity to dive into. Savour a cup of afternoon tea, head on to a Bollywood matinee then enjoy an evening of Gilbert & Sullivan in Gilbert's very own gardens!
