Redbridge Borough Guide
Your All In London guide to Redbridge
Lying on the north-easterly edge of Greater London, Redbridge is sometimes known as the "leafy" suburb, and as such enjoys one of the best living environments in the capital. The Borough stretches from Ilford and Seven Kings in the south, through Newbury Park and Barkingside, to Woodford Green, Woodford Bridge and Hainault in the north. Its population is very diverse with 40% of people coming from ethnic minority backgrounds, and is also relatively young with over one fifth of the population below the age of 16.
Lying just 7 miles from central London, Ilford can be reached in just 18 minutes from Liverpool Street Station. Several Redbridge stations are due to converted to Crossrail stations over the coming months as the area gears up for its connection to the latest London rail line. This is likely to bring associated investment and regeneration as well as upward pressures on housing around those areas. A family-orientated borough at heart, Redbridge has much to offer to its many residents and visitors by way of parks, arts, sports and shopping.
