The London Borough Food Market has been voted a top London tourist attraction in a London survey, and remains hugely popular with visitors and locals alike. It is London’s oldest food market, and has been selling food to the people of Southwark for over 1,000 years!
There is a limited market open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but a full range of stalls and traders every Wednesday - Saturday, attracting hordes of people all vying to sample some of the best gastronomic delights that London has to offer. Fruit and veg, cakes, breads, meats and cheeses – there is every smell and flavour you could ever hope for as well as a great mixture of authentic style ingredients from a large variety of countries. The London Borough Food Market will also give you the opportunity to do some star-spotting as some of the UK’s top celebrity chefs have been spotted walking amongst the stalls.

Our favourite London markets
Food stuffs, clothing, gift ideas, books, snack bars, antiques, specialist stalls... they're all here.
One of the largest, most eclectic food markets in London, it’s worth a visit for the samples alone. Belgian beer stalls, cheese, meat, fish and veg – if you can’t find your dinner here, then you must be some kind of dummy. And it’s not just the market itself that spreads the joy but the atmosphere of lazy afternoon living that grows around it on weekends.

This a great place to potter around at meal times - there are some fantastic food stalls serving all kinds of cuisines. The market is usually pretty over-run with tourists taking photos - but I'spose that's fair enough - tourists have to eat too!
