This historical house dates back to the 16th century, when it was built by a member of Henry VIII’s royal court. Although over the centuries parts of the building have been renovated, there are still sections of it that have existed since Tudor times. However perhaps the most fascinating thing about this castle is that it is rumoured to be haunted by a ghost, that of the wife of the 2nd Lord Coleraine, who inhabited the building in the 1600s. It was opened as a museum in 1906, and inside you’ll find paintings and collections that relate to the local area, plus. Now a Grade I listed building, it sits within the grounds of Bruce Castle Park, Tottenham’s very first public park. Nature lovers might want to follow the Tree Trail through the park. Open from Wednesday to Sunday, entrance to the museum is free.
