Eastbury Manor House, a beautiful Grade 1 listed Tudor mansion thought to date back to the 1570s, is a great and rare example of a brick-built Elizabethan manor house. Since 1918 it has been owned by the National Trust and is now managed by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

At Eastbury Manor House you can wander through the atmospheric historic rooms where recent restoration works revealed some previously undiscovered wall paintings! Once you've done that you can stretch your legs in the walled garden either at your leisure or as part of a tour led by one of the guides who come complete with Tudor costume!

If you fancy taking the weight off your feet, enjoy refreshments in the well-stocked Garden Tea Room. There is also the Old Buttery Gift Shop available where you can shop for momentos.
