High Street Kensington Shopping

Though high street shopping in London is dominated by the draw of Oxford Street, if you wish to avoid the massive crowds Kensington can offer a more relaxed shopping atmosphere and a remarkable selection of shops. Easily accessed via it own Underground station turning left from the station offers all of the recognisable high street stores such as Marks and Spencer, Next, River Island and Miss Selfridge. Turning right from the underground will offer more expensive and more exclusive shopping. Kensington High Street offers it all.
Men’s and Women’s fashions are catered for with a variety of tailors, dressmakers and large chain outlets. Straying off the high street will offer more than a few surprises. Camden Hill road and Church Street offer many different gift ideas and a huge array of privately owned, unique shops. Church Street is also a wealth of antique shops- selling Victorian paintings, Art Deco pieces and Oriental porcelain.
For those interested in more exclusive designer clothes, Barkers Arcade on Kensington High Street offers Jaeger and Karen Milan labels. Barkers Arcade is also home to a large House of Fraser department store.
Just off Church Street is the Kensington Market- a professional and well laid out market place. The Kensington Market deals mainly in fashions and accessories, though many other items are available for the eagle-eyed shopper.
