Then there’s also that little matter of opinion – one person’s utopia is another one’s hell. While some may enjoy having a chat, a drink and a bit of a boogie, others want to feed their souls with what’s pumping out of the club speakers. Some want to pose in fashionable clothes, others want to get messy and forget the rest of the world.
Fabric is one such club that can sometimes be packed to the brim with people aimlessly walking round and round the dancefloor - ‘looking for the action’ as my friend puts it, yet never actually finding it - and generally being a nuisance to those that want to dance. On other nights however the floor packs a heaving bunch of revellers getting down to whatever the DJ is pushing out of the superb Martin Audio soundsystem.
Therefore, an amazing experience can take place in the most modest of venues if all the elements are correctly aligned; similarly the most reputable club with the most financial backing can easily fall short of delivering the goods if things aren’t just right. It is unfair then, to judge a nightclub by one night only. It is somewhat easier to describe a clubnight.
‘Wet Yourself’ (so named because of their previous home at Aquarium, the Old Street venue with a swimming pool) takes place every Sunday night at Fabric, and having been on more than a handful of occasions now, I can safely say it’s a consistently good party. The techno night has seen the likes of DJ Hell, Miss Kittin, and Marcel Dettman take to the decks alongside residents Cormac, Jacob Hustley and Peter Pixley. The aforementioned residents are pretty hot at their trade too – so much so that their monthly resident specials are indeed special in their own right.
Sunday nights are known for being one of the best nights of the week for clubbing - it’s the truly dedicated, hardened partygoer that will keep going for a third night or take a Monday off work to satisfy their need to dance. There tends to be less of the ‘looking for’ and more ‘action’ taking place. I realise this borders slightly on a generalisation, but if you find yourself in need of a party at the end of the weekend, and it’s mostly dirty techno that you’re after, I can’t think of a better place to start the week.

London’s one and only bona-fide ‘super club’ Fabric can do no wrong. Saturday nights at the club in Farringdon are dedicated to all things trance, techno, bass and house with the world’s biggest DJs frequently playing the main room.

a few weeks ago i went to fabric with three friends, one of which had been before and recommended it. We queued for nearly an hour and a half in the rain but it was worth it! This club has something for everyone, you can rave it up to the drum n bass or relax on the sofas and beds or get high on the floor! Although the crowd is very druggie there was no trouble and everyone was so friendly and just doing their own thing. we stayed until the morning and got the train home, amazing nite! going again soon (although this time we might get advance tickets to avoid the queue!) x

Living in Leeds we were not sure what London had to offer for a night of dancing and drinking. We ended up (all 11 of us) in fabric and had the best night imaginable the place has so much to offer and even though it was a Drumb N Base night something i would'nt normally listen to it did not matter as there is no way you could not enjoy yourself the place is massive cheap and quite classy there's even sofa beds inbetween rooms if you get tired(something you would not find in Leeds). If more of the london clubs are as vibrant as fabric no wonder its so popular, Leeds is missing out. I deffinately recommend it and if you can go on a night when there holding fabric live but get there early!!!

Proper clubbers club, huge, fantastic sound system two large rooms providing choice of music sat night house. Jeans trainers allowed. Long queues up to an hour to get in, but worth the wait friendly door & security staff.
