All In London

This is an all-new 800-capacity venue right in the heart of trendy Shoreditch. It's Victorian loft-style space is the setting for an uber-cool programme of events and clubnights from a tried and tested team.

All In London Review

Trendy crowd, eclectic music

XOYO’s combined policy of booking live acts as well as DJs is serving them very well indeed, as since opening last year this intimate venue has become one of Shoreditch’s coolest hangouts. Thanks to their penchant for selecting quality music with a touch of the avant garde, you’re just as likely to catch lovable eccentrics CSS bopping around on stage as a showcase from dubstep label Hessle Audio. The cutting edge programming is unsurprising given that XOYO’s head honchos include Marcus Weedon, who organises Victoria Park’s Field Day festival (hence the Field Day afterparties taking place here), and Johnno Burgess from techno night Bugged Out.

The venue itself has a capacity for 800 people, meaning you’ll never be too far away from the stage, and it boasts the sort of rough-round-the-edges, exposed piping décor that has become de rigeur at trendy venues – the building used to be a printworks, and little has been done to disguise its former guise as a warehouse. A staircase leads up to a smaller room, used for exhibitions and other cultural shenanigans, and there is also a dedicated smoking area outside. Don’t expect an extensive selection of beers, but they do serve cocktails. Entry fees vary between £5 and £12 depending on the night, with some events being free. During the week XOYO is open till midnight, but you can party till 4am on Saturday night.

Resurrect the tie-dye... it's time for some House.

Dimitri from Paris, Fakeblood, Ed Banger, Erol Alkan; there’s surely nobody worth their Serato set-up that hasn’t headlined the hallowed XOYO. With the club’s smaller sibling the Shoreditch Butchery now a part of the experience, XOYO is surely one of London’s premier nightspots.
