Pembroke Castle is a spacious, barn-like pub that offers a wide ranging menu consisting of traditional pub grub. It attracts office workers and labourers by day and gives way to the Primrose Hill celebs and locals by night. They host a comedy club on a Sunday evening and also have karaoke nights. Pets are welcome. Catering for private parties is available upon request. Please phone for details.

Bustling Primrose Hill pub with good food

This gastro-pub is conveniently located a minute away from Chalk Farm tube station and five minutes from Primrose Hill. It is therefore often heaving in the summer months with revellers and tourists on their way to and from the park.

A large beer garden caters for warmer weather with parasols providing shade, while heaters are switched on when the temperature drops.

The rest of the year it still remains busy thanks to an inviting, dimly lit interior aided by dark maroon walls and comfy sofas. The reasonably priced food also draws the punters in: hearty steaks and veggie options such as crispy risotto balls that ooze with mozzarella make The Pembroke Castle popular for lunch and dinner; in fact, the place is never empty.

Beers and ales are just over the £3.50 mark for a pint – it’s not the cheapest for booze, but this is celebrity-central after all.

A mixture of locals, after work drinkers and tourists young and old make for a lively, fun-loving crowd. While Friday and Saturday nights do see a certain amount of inebriation the vibe is usually a positive one. It’s also situated far enough away from Camden Town to avoid the worst of the weekend drunkenness.

Cosy, bustling and with good food that won’t break the bank.

Nice burgers, lovely pint of Peroni, warm inviting and nice pub in general, bit too cold to city out side but there were heaters in the nicely laid out garden area at the side of the pub

Lovely little pub in lovely primrose hill area, great time had here at the village fete on Sunday, it was packed we just go t a seat and had one of the best sunday lunches I've had in a long while - clearly home made and totally worth it, garden looked nice but a bit too cold for us to sit out there but nice none the less

This is a lovely little pub in the heart of a lovely area of london, such a sleepy village type of area and the pub fits right in, homely feel, great hot tasty food and warm friendly staff. We had pizza's and they are huge, tasty and handmade - as good as you'd get in any italian and its a pub! Always seem to have a huge selection of beers and wine so its a 10 out of 10.

this place has a huge beer garden, popped in here before heading up the hill, can get pretty busy in there but it was worth the little pit stop.... had a couple of good pints of IPA whilst there didnt have food but it looked pretty good

The Pembroke Castle has a lovely location and ambience. Unfortunately, our group suffered from extremely rude and unwarrented abominable service from the bar manager. On the basis of this uncalled-for treatment, I would not recommend the Pembroke Castle to anyone.

Delightful atmosphere, good choice of beers and wines. The bar staff however and the manager in particular demonstrate a brand of rudeness, incompetence and bullying I have rarely encountered. I have never been so insulted and poorly treated, which is a shame for such a charming pub

Great location, good size and great beer garden but rude, arrogant and aggressive staff who do everything they can to ruin the evening. Might be ok for 1 or 2 drinks in the afternoon but don't ever go there with a group booking and don't expect any helpful or friendly service.
