The Royal Duchess is a pub that serves a variety of beers, wines and spirits as well as a selection of pub snacks including crisps and peanuts. They also boast a pool table and occasionally have live music as extra entertainment. Catering for private parties of up to 70 guests is available upon request. They host an annual charity event to raise money for St. Joseph's Hospital.

We went to the Royal Duchess for the first time a couple of months ago on a friends recommendation we had the best time ever bar staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. They had a guy on that played fantastic music and sang along to it does anyone when he is on again or if not what entertainment do they have on the 29th August we are being let out again that night xx

I had a really fun karaoke night here. Nice mix of people and friendly staff. I think I'll make this my place as long as I'm staying in London.

I go to the duchess every Sunday, it is without a doubt the best pub in London.
I travel each week from Kent and it is well worth the journey as they have the best music in town.
The bar maids are great and are never without a smile. The landlords Micky and Pauline are fantastic and welcome everyone long may it last.
If you fancy a good night go there you wont be sorry.

I went to the Royal Duchess on Friday (13/02/09) and saw the "probably the best pub in East London" sign behind the bar. I thought it was a very poor claim until around 9.00pm when the place came to life. I was so wrong, it probably is the best pub in East London. Great atmosphere, great music, brilliant fun. My only criticism is that some bar staff had a tendency to serve their regulars before those that had been waiting longer but I will definitely be going back.

I go to the royal duchess on a regular basis and i find it a fun lively pub where the owner mr king is very lovely. The music each week is brilliant and the new decor is more up to date. I highly recommend a visit you will definatley go back.

I was taken to the Duchess by friends who live in the area. They have a sign behind the bar that says if a certain beer did pubs that theirs would probably be the best in east london and i would have to say they are probably right. It was a real proper east end knees up. a round of drinks for 4 people and we had change from a tenner and that is incredible for London. The landlady is the life and soul of the party and seems to make sure everyone is having a good time. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recomend to anyone
