The best Bangers and Mash I’ve had in a long time. I went back for the first time since the re-opening last night and I was thrilled. The food was fab and the service was brilliant. We were really well looked after and it was good value for money. Definitely worth a visit.

This pub is fantastic. Great venue beautifully refurbished with an amazing history. Felt very privileged to stand at the same bar as Joe Strummer and Robert Plant. They have just relaunched as a gastropub and the food was sensational. Six of us went and everyone raved about it (mine was a smoked haddock with welsh rarebit number - which I can heartily recommend. Great crowd, full of fun, nice people. We will definitely be making this a regular haunt!

Went to this pub last night to do the quiz with some friends. They’d ordered food by the time I arrived – my mate sent his steak back because it was cold. So we’re having a drink and then this short middle-aged bloke in a suit comes up and starts going

“Why did you send the steak back?”

“It was cold and didn’t look particularly appetizing”

“Well that’s your opinion isn’t it?”

“No, it was cold, that’s not an opinion. The barmaid told me the steaks here are amazing, and they should be for 16 quid, I wouldn’t pay 3 quid for that and who are you anyway?”

“I’M THE F***ING OWNER, NOW GET OUT OF MY PUB!”

Never go there.

My brother made me come to this pub. Those of you who know the area will know that it has not been the best of pubs. However someone has spent a lot of time and money restoring it. We had traditionally delicious bangers and mash and burgers before the quiz started, which we had fun losing. A member of staff was kind enough to give me a tour of the restaurant upstairs which was very nice. The change is fantastic, the crowd is a nice mix of lovely totty and locals of all flavours. I was pleasantly surprised and will be there again.

How this dump has ever made a living, getting people through their doors to spened their hard earnt money, is one of the miracles of the modern World. The door staff are real aresholes that seem to pocket most of the money, especially after midnight, the barstaff are dogs who are very unpolite and as for the clientelle which this place attracts, is beyond comprehension. The women are well past their sell by date and the men are wannabes.
